Hawker House is run by the Street Feast team who gather together some of London's best street food vendors and put them all in one place so you can sample the best street food London has to offer without having to actually walk the streets. They have been running Street Feast events in four locations across London for the past few years and Hawker House is the south London sister of Dinerama in Shoreditch which we checked out last year.
Heeyyy.... How you doing? Long time no see! Nice tan! I haven't written one of these for a while as, quite frankly, I couldn't be arsed. But it turns out there are still a lot of cool things happening in the world of London food news so I thought I would do a super quick round up of things that I have been most excited about over the last couple of weeks.
London has exploded in recent years with a whole host of dining experiences and supper clubs. Always on the lookout for 'new ways to eat dinner' apparently (see last year's Twin Peaks experience for a start) Londoners have lapped these up and there seems to be no stopping them. Django Bango Gold Rush are the latest posse to hitch their wagon to this train by laying on a Wild West themed dining experience in Vauxhall.
The Blue's Kitchen have been on the restaurant scene for a while but I went down to Shoreditch to check out their Monday night Rib Night for myself.
It's a bank holiday this week which means you don't have to be at stupid work as much! Oh and, you can also get excited about these six London food news items as well. This week we got FREE cheeseburgers, 50% off lunch and dinner, a Rib Fest, beer pong, and a couple of Easter treats thrown in too. Jesus would have wanted it that way.
Five exciting things happening on the London food scene this week includes FREE beer, a pizza festival, discount ribs, and a new chicken shop with a difference. Go get em!
It's an eclectic mix of exciting food news happening in London this week including: discounts on barbecue ribs, discounts on eggs(!?), craft beer, a pizza/burger hybrid, chicken parmigiana from Lucky Chip and rainbow bagels!
You've all heard of the Donut Burger, right? What's that? A burger sandwiched between two doughnuts? Yup, that's the one. You know where you can get one of those? Red's True Barbecue in Shoreditch!
After hauling some serious building ass all over the venue, Dinerama has been rebuilt and has risen again like a phoenix from the BBQ smokey flames.
Better pack your finest adult-bib and toothpicks, because we're going to meat town.
Let's play a game. I bet I can grab your attention in three words: barbecue, ribs, beer. Did it work? I kneeeew it. That's basically the genius behind Duke's Brew & Que in Haggerston. A traditional Texan style, wood-smoke barbecue joint plonked in the middle of northeast London serving up ribs, burgers, pulled pork and all manner of other delicious meaty, smoky treats.
