22 February, 2016 — by Toni Ratcliff0

It’s an eclectic mix of exciting things happening in London food news this week including: discounts on barbecue ribs, discounts on eggs(!?), an awesome craft beer festival, a pizza/burger hybrid, chicken parmigiana from Lucky Chip and rainbow bagels!

20% off your bill at Dukes Brew & Que – tonight only!

Ribs guys and all round barbecue masters, Dukes Brew & Que, have been running a ‘More Meat Monday’s’ offer every Monday in February. The deal: 20% off your whole bill, including drinks! The technique: you need to call Duke’s Brew & Que and book a table saying the magic words ‘More Meat Mondays‘, or reserve a table online using the code ‘MMM Feb’. Then just show up, eat, drink, and errr…. pay, of course. This is the last day of this offer so get going!

What do you get if you cross a burger and a pizza? A bizza!

Ok so we all know food hybrids are the latest thing and the new kid on the block is a Bizza: a burger crossed with a pizza, obvs! The brainchild of The Blues Kitchen and Pizza Pilgrims, the Bizza is a Angus & Shorthorn steak patty, smoked buffalo mozzarella served in a Parmigiano bun courtesy of The Blues Kitchen. It is then topped with melted nduja, fresh basil and San Marzano tomato ketchup from Pizza Pilgrim’s. Oh and that thing on top is a truffle mac’n’cheese arancini. Awesome! It is only available at Blues Kitchen outlets until Monday 29th February.

Rainbow Bagels!

Ever since I saw the beautiful rainbow bagels from The Bagel Store in Brooklyn circulating the internet a few weeks ago I have been lamenting the fact that I don’t live in New York. But have no fear, guys! Our very own bagel gurus in London have decided to make their own! Booyah! The Beigel Shop on Brick Lane (the yellow one, not the white one) saw the rainbow craze happening State side and decided to make their own here. Makes sense. The multi-coloured beauties went on sale last Wednesday at a reported 50p each and the bakery has been working overtime just to keep up with demand. Better go quick in case they are forced to close like their American cousins…
