Unleash The Void at your local cinema from 31st March

28 February, 2017 — by Christopher Ratcliff0

After its triumphant screening at last year’s London Film Festival, The Void comes to UK cinemas at the end of March. And you can be responsible for bringing the horror to your own town.

I’m sure your neighbours won’t mind. I hear they love being scared by tentacled creatures from the vast unknowable beyond.

Last year we described The Void as “a truly satisfying blend of Lovecraftian terror and body horror” and gave it a rare 5 star rating (yes it’s up there with Brewster’s Millions and C.H.U.D.) Naturally we’ve been waiting impatiently to see the film again ever since, so it’s with ghoulish glee that we can announce The Void is coming to UK cinemas via Ourscreen. Which is basically a crowdfunded way that people can arrange their own screenings across 80 different cinemas around the UK.

The Void is currently planned for the following dates and venues (although if none of these are convenient for you, why not arrange your own):

Friday 31st March
– Ritzy – London (10:30pm)
– Hackney Picturehouse – London (10:30pm)

Saturday 1st April
– The Cameo – Edinburgh (10pm)

Monday 3rd April
– Picturehouse at FACT – Liverpool (6pm)
– AMC – Manchester (7:30pm)
– Picturehouse at National Media Museum – Bradford (9pm)
– Clapham Picturehouse – London (9:15pm)

Tuesday 4th April
– Quad – Derby (8:45pm)

Friday 7th April
– Ritzy – London (10:30pm)

Monday 24th April
– Arts Picturehouse – Cambridge (9pm)

Tickets are available now through Ourscreen.

To prepare yourself for the ordeal, here’s a teaser trailer, which is definitely NSFW. (And features quotes from some very hip, young and insightful publications).

Yeah it’s pretty fucking intense. Maybe take a friend.
