It's a 'new openings' party fiesta in this week's London food news! We have the original Cronut bakery coming to town, Crosstown Doughnuts opening in Shoreditch, Chick 'n' Sours arrive in Covent Garden and Hawker House get into the Oktoberfest spirit.
London has exploded in recent years with a whole host of dining experiences and supper clubs. Always on the lookout for 'new ways to eat dinner' apparently (see last year's Twin Peaks experience for a start) Londoners have lapped these up and there seems to be no stopping them. Django Bango Gold Rush are the latest posse to hitch their wagon to this train by laying on a Wild West themed dining experience in Vauxhall.
You've all heard of the Donut Burger, right? What's that? A burger sandwiched between two doughnuts? Yup, that's the one. You know where you can get one of those? Red's True Barbecue in Shoreditch!
Bird in Shoreditch, London sells a mountainous fried chicken burger BETWEEN TWO GIANT FREAKING WAFFLES. What more do you need to know? Well, all of this...
Is there a dress code? Will I need to make a reservation? Is it proper to wipe my mouth with a napkin? So many questions.
Crosstown Doughnuts has been silently spreading their doughy wings all across London for about a year now (according to their Twitter feed). Yet up until about 3 weeks ago I hadn't even heard of them! How could a new Gourmet doughnut company exist in London without my knowing?! For my ignorance, I can only apologise.
